Edmonton native Alyssa Reid was discovered in 2010 by Wax Records co-founder Jamie Appleby. He signed her after her interpretation of the Justin Bieber hit, “One Less Lonely Girl,” written from a girl’s perspective and retitled “One More Lonely Boy,” went viral on YouTube.
Reid’s lead-off single, “Alone Again,” was a fresh take on a 1987 hit single by female rockers, Heart. The newly interpreted song instantly connected with listeners across Canada. Reid was nominated in the “Best New Artist” category at the 2012 Juno Awards, toured alongside Danny Fernandes and Hedley in 2014, and released a new single, “Dangerous,” in July 2015.
